Woman Alive! is committed to breaking down barriers to participating in physical activity. One example of this is the program's collection of gently used running shoes, which are cleaned (thanks to a washing machine funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation) and distributed upon request to participants.
Thanks to a new partnership with the Hamilton Around the Bay Road Race, over 300 pairs of running shoes were collected at the 2009 race Exposition. Thank you to the event organizers and runners for their gracious support. We look forward to the 2010 race!
