“The purpose of Healthy Living Hamilton (HLH) is to support health-related school initiatives which address risk factors associated with chronic disease.”
The Secondary School Workgroup for Healthy Living Hamilton would like to recognize efforts within secondary schools that support health-related activities including increasing physical activity, healthy eating, and tobacco-free living among students and staff. Other activities include and are not limited to anti-bullying initiatives, students against impaired driving and initiation of a Healthy Action Team.

In addition to the work of HLH, the Ministry of Education has launched its Healthy Schools Challenge. The link to the website is http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/healthyschools/. The purpose of the program is to promote student involvement in creating healthier school environments for students. HLH encourages all schools to apply for this challenge!
