Expect resistance; Plan for it!
Social support for women’s physical activity is not the norm; support from family and friends may be limited.

Society rewards women for how they take care of others, not necessarily how they care for themselves (Kluge, Mary Ann, Journal of Aging and Physical Activity, 2002)

Seek support from active women and women’s groups.

Seek support from your spouse or partner; be specific about the importance of physical activity to your health.

Expect your children to resist; plan for it.

Be aware that most people do not appreciate that ‘50% of the changes of aging are due to physical inactivity’
